The bill requested that the anti-trans Louisiana Department of Health investigate whether gender-affirming care causes psychosis and would’ve likely resulted in restrictions on informed consent HRT.
If we’re being honest: they still think it’s a popular position. That’s why they keep running ads on it (such as with James Talarico). Instead, I’d imagine that restricting adults is still a line for many of them, as care bans were originally sold only as making ‘vulnerable kids’ wait until they’re consenting adults. I don’t know how long that’ll last, though.
I thought everybody knew there is no mental illness associated with gender dysphoria. Our society creates the mental illness within us, including those around us.

The bill including the language for 26 or younger is no coincidence. Republicans are knocking on the door for further bans on adult care.
