Are you sure the Mount Sinai and CCH settlements are permanent? I’m not a lawyer, but from the research I’ve done it sounds like settlements can be dissolved if all parties involved agree to dissolve it. For the blue states that have reached these settlements, the only parties are the hospital and the federal government. So under a more favorable federal government, it could potentially be dissolved. The red state settlements may be harder since the state AG is also a party in those ones.
Oh, I absolutely agree with you here, but the problem I see is that these agreements are overseen by federal judges, and some of those judges can be unpredictable. So like, it could happen in theory, but it would require a) political will and b) favorable judges. Neither are guaranteed and even if they were, undoing it would still take some time.
And yes, the settlements in Texas and Ohio will probably never be undone unfortunately, at least not in the next decade or so.
You also have to remember that states (like Missouri) are passing antitransgender laws in violation of state and federal Constitutions and violate federal court rulings. President Donald John Trump admitted on national television that he doesn't know if he has to uphold the United States Constitution even though it is in the oath he took January 20, 2025.
Maybe they need to shut down all children hospitals across the country and take away the insulin, inhalers, glasses, hearing-aids, wheelchairs, prosthetics, and chemotherapy from all children. Shut down Shriners and St. Jude.
