Are you sure the Mount Sinai and CCH settlements are permanent? I’m not a lawyer, but from the research I’ve done it sounds like settlements can be dissolved if all parties involved agree to dissolve it. For the blue states that have reached these settlements, the only parties are the hospital and the federal government. So under a more favorable federal government, it could potentially be dissolved. The red state settlements may be harder since the state AG is also a party in those ones.
Oh, I absolutely agree with you here, but the problem I see is that these agreements are overseen by federal judges, and some of those judges can be unpredictable. So like, it could happen in theory, but it would require a) political will and b) favorable judges. Neither are guaranteed and even if they were, undoing it would still take some time.
And yes, the settlements in Texas and Ohio will probably never be undone unfortunately, at least not in the next decade or so.

And I would say, you do not understand the ability of the federal government to reach into every state and inflict damage on the trans people living there, accessing care, going to school, playing sports, just trying to live their lives. Every time I see the federal government make another effort to erase trans people from life, I thank the universe that we were able to get her out. But I carry the weight of knowing that her friends are still there. When countries start to realize that the US is unsafe for trans people, and they need to start offering asylum, I will start reaching out to her friends and try to bring them to us.
It'll be interesting to see if anyone attends those detransition clinics voluntarily. My suspicion is that it's just theatre so they can pretend there's a detransition epidemic. I've actually been surprised how little we've seen detransition rates change. If it was, we'd be hearing about it constantly, but there's nothing.
