In response to the shocking decision—which came from a panel of 3 Democratic-appointed judges—Puerto Rico also decided to make it harder for binary trans people to change their birth certificates.
This is jaw-dropping. The court appears to have carefully considered the facts and concluded it is a violation of your right to privacy for you to deliberately choose to reveal something.
This is infuriating, and it breaks my heart, but that's nothing compared to burden it places on non-binary and transgender persons.
Beyond our compassion for those affected by this decision, the rest of us must recognize that it is an early step in a complete domination of the whole of society. I don't understand this drive, but it is grotesque and sick.
Though I happen to be a white cisgender heterosexual Christian man (I am the man.), I have personal experience with being made "other" by the group. While I don't compare my pain in severity, I can relate to the arbitrary cruelty of being othered simply because of who you are.
So you are not alone. You are great, but you knew that already. Maybe you needed a reminder. Peace.
The American citizenry writ large is not defined by the current vile Administration. The people in PR similarly are not defined by the island’s present government.

I basically agree with you, however, for the most part it does, more is the pity.
