They want me using the restrooms with their wives and daughters? They’re probably safer with me than they are with them.

What a bigoted decision!

The Heritage Foundation scumbags really did read the Nazi playbook. This is a disgusting, bigoted ruling.

What rock does this judge live under that there's no evidence of harassment and assaults?

That's rhetorical, it's a rock of willfull ignorance and bigotry.

Michael Moore's avatar

How is it “speculation” when the intent of the law is harassment and intimidation. There are already plenty of examples of both transgender and cisgender being harassed and physically attacked just for going to take a piss because of these bathroom bills and the hatred caused by the hysteria being whipped up from the pulpits and the politicians. Land of the free my ass.

This is not an attack on cisgender men, but simply a clear-eyed defense of the trans community.

Please keep these stats in mind as you watch the Christian Right attacking the trans community with increasingly cruel and dehumanizing anti-trans legislation.

Trans women do not rape women and children in bathrooms, cisgender men do. In truth, there has been only ONE case of a trans woman attacking a woman in a bathroom in the past half century; however, there have been millions of rapes of women by cisgender men and thousands of pedophilic attacks on children by cisgender men in that same time period, many of these attacks happening in women’s bathrooms.

Transgender individuals do not commit even a statistically significant percentage of mass murders. Statistically, since 1966, only ONE (one source cites two cases) mass murders have been committed by transgendered perpetrators (this is less than 0.5% of all mass murders), while during the same time period over 98% of all mass murders were committed my men and mostly by young, white men. Of 201 mass shootings it recorded in the US between 1966 and 2025, 196 were attributed to cisgender men (97.5%),[b] 4 to cisgender women (2%), and only 1 (0.5%), the 2023 Nashville school shooting to a transgender perpetrator.

The trans community is not a danger to the Christian Nationalist community, but it is clear that the Christian Nationalist community is a grave danger to the trans community.

Trans rights are human rights.

Help keep us safe from religiously motivated persecution.

The SUPERMAJORITY PLAN TO IMPEACH TRUMP and HIS ADMINISTRATION

It will take 292 house and 67 senate votes to obtain a supermajority vote. This is the key to accomplishing anything in the house or senate. The house and senate will be able to impeach Trump and his administration for their crimes and corruption.

The Democrats are the only ones that will stand against Trump. We have to vote out as many republicans as possible.

EVERYONE IS GOING TO HAVE TO VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS IN THE NOVEMBER 3RD MIDTERM ELECTIONS TO MAKE THIS WORK

Make sure you share this with everyone you know without social media. People without social media are unaware how corrupt and detrimental Trump’s administration really is for our country. The media outlets do not post anything negative about Trump. Some people don’t even know what the midterm elections are or how important they are.

TRUMP, HIS ADMINISTRATION, HIS BILLIONAIRE PEDOPHILE NETWORK , AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY ARE MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE WORKING CLASS TO SURVIVE.

WE HAVE TO STOP THEM FROM DESTROYING THE COUNTRY

It would be really nice if we had some realistic options rather than Republican and Democrat. I'm about to be 55 and up until very recently, have been a lifelong Democrat.

Since I have watched Democrats start to soften on their support of us I've realized that there are some out there that are more malleable to the idea of leaving us by the wayside in the name of protecting what they determine to be the greater good. I've watched Chuck Schumer waffle on military funding. I've watched singular Democrats crossed the aisle an issues I'm sure they find more important than what happens to us. I'm not just talking about federally but also in individual red states.

I truly wish we had a ranked voting system because that is something that would give a third party candidate a fighting chance in elections

I plan on making all the democrats act like independents. Eventually make them actually become independents. My goal is to do away with both parties

"And it cites, among other things, the US Supreme Court’s rulings against gender-affirming care and trans people’s passports, to say that the court cannot assume trans people are protected by the Kansas constitution."

Republicans want to make trans people second class citizens, as evidenced by reasoning like this.

Stacie 🌹's avatar

I hope this can be appealed in the meantime any trans woman that is harmed using the men's bathroom should be able to sue. If it's at all possible for them to personally sue the judge as well I recommend they do that as well as filing lawsuits against every single fucking Kansas legislator that voted in favor of this bill.

Motor Vehicle Departments must now be equipped with medical scales to document height and weight, which will be required documentation to supply profiles on dating apps. Ongoing yearly measurements can be supplied from annual physicals or by appointment at these departments.

"Second, the ACLU asserts that because carrying an inaccurate ID or using a restroom that doesn’t correspond with their appearance forcibly outs trans people, SB 244 violates trans Kansans’ rights to personal autonomy, privacy, and free expression."

??? This law requires carrying an ACCURATE I.D., not an inaccurate one. And how is it "forcibly outing" someone who has CHOSEN to go by the opposite sex for people to know that's what they're doing? To try to keep it a secret is to try to trick people dishonestly. If you aren't comfortable with people knowing about a change, don't make it. Be open and honest.

Aleksandra Vaca's avatar

You know what else IDs keep track of? Eye color. And you're well aware that it can change, right? So what you're saying here is that someone who changes their eye color with contacts should not be able to change that color on their ID, as people should know that they changed their eye color. Or that someone who loses weight should not be able to change the weight listed on their license, as it "tricks people dishonestly."

Look, an ID is supposed to match what you look like. And, believe it or not, trans people typically do not look like their "biological sex." All having an inaccurate ID does is remind those who see a trans person's ID that the person was not born physically being the gender they are now. People react poorly to that information. Are you aware that trans people disproportionately suffer from hate crimes and harassment? Why would you want to unnecessarily subject trans people to that?

Andrea Beatrice Reed's avatar

Eye color does NOT change when one puts on colored contact lenses. There are no laws against changing one's weight on a driver's license to accurately reflect a change that I am aware of. You are putting up a straw man to claim that I said that. And the "harassment" of eye-rolls when a man claims to be a woman are indeed unnecessary—if he finds them too painful to subject himself to, he could choose to stop making the claim. Detransition Awareness Day is tomorrow, Thursday, March 12th.

DenaStigers's avatar

Don't lie. You know very well that for decades people who transitioned were stealth for personal safety. It has only been VERY recently that people could transition without serious personal risk.

The right to privacy on such matters has long been upheld. This is why courts allow the petitioner to have their legal name change record sealed.

Andrea Beatrice Reed's avatar

I know no such thing. People are "stealth" because they are trying to put something over on others. If they don't want the "risk," don't do it. No one is forcing them to lie.

Michelle Paquette's avatar

Absolutely! And, that ID must also reflect all the physical properties of the carrier; their natural hair and eye color at birth, their height at birth, and their weight at birth!

It’s time people acknowledge the fundamental immutability of biology, the intrinsic and eternally unchanging nature of biological bodies.

Thanks for the sarcasm tag! Whew! I was so po’d by the “inaccurate ID” BS above I was ready to snarl/snark without thinking.

I hate lowering myself to those yahoo’s (and I mean that in the most Swiftian way) level. Ew!
