I had better hurry if I'm wanting to get my legal changes done. Who knows what state could be next

Oh I've got some ideas. At this point, there's a list of states I check about twice a month just to make sure they aren't trying anything. What state are you in?

CJ Ormand (he/him)'s avatar

Arizona! From what I've seen from Erin Reed's map, it's slightly less liberal in pattern with states like California or Colorado, but I am still a little scared nonetheless.

The thing with Arizona is it will all hinge on Katie Hobbs' reelection this November. From what I've seen, she's up in virtually every poll, so I have high hopes for that. If she wins, AZ will be safe for another four years.

I'll keep that in mind! Thanks for your insight.

That makes sense. The fear is not just what one state has already done — it is knowing they keep testing how far they can push this before people can react.

Heard a very funny take from Suris: anti trans chuds are bad at sex (obviously). They’re obsessed with trans porn because a girl dick is the only clit they’re capable of FINDING!

Thank you for this reporting, as you stated, it is cruelty for the sake of being cruel.

The GOP wants to eliminate trans people from public life, and they are using every lever of government they control to do so.

This is somewhat unrelated, but I can’t find proof of the following anywhere in Missouri laws and it’s incredibly frustrating.

As you said in this post and linked to the news article stating as such, Missouri’s site says they accept gender marker changes on drivers licenses with a court order or gender affirmation surgery. I have a license with my chosen gender marker on it from another state that allowed it. I also have a court order that shows this change.

But they’re refusing to let me transfer it since it doesn’t match my birth certificate. The new rule I’m being told about, confirmed via email with a customer representative from the Missouri DMV, is that I require “a U.S. passport or amended U.S. birth certificate with my gender designation.” I am unable to do either due to my CRBA birth certificate and Trump’s executive order. I’m SOL and can’t change my license unless I accept the revert to my old gender (which doesn’t match my appearance post-HRT) or move out of the state.

Just wanted to post this to you somehow since it’s not available anywhere and it still reads as acceptable to change your gender marker in Missouri with a court order. I appreciate all you do to keep us informed in a terrifying time.

Hey, I’m sorry this is happening to you :(

I will say that I’ve actually been trying to corner Missouri on this for about two weeks but I’ve not gotten a straight answer. Could you please send me the email (dm me here, signal aleksandra_vaca.44, or email aleksandravaca2@gmail.com)? I’ll report back with what I find as soon as I’m able.

Thank you. Just sent you an email with the information 💜

Aleksandra Vaca's avatar

Okay, I contacted them. I was told that what you were told is wrong: the requirement for a court order or surgery is still in place. They advised to make an appointment and try to process your license anyways. Try that and let me know if you're still having issues.

I really hope this helps :)

Wow, thank you so much for your help! I’ll see what I can do about this 🙏🏻

Thank you for the reporting. Sadly, I think it’s only a matter of time before all deeply red states have implemented prohibitive restrictions on BC and DL sex markers. The main variable in these states will be whether they try to force reverts on renewals (for those that changed markers in the past when legal to do so), and/or if they take a really extreme stance like Kansas did. This will likely vary from state-to-state. Trans people will then be left clinging to the life raft of blue states in order to continue participating in society with safety and dignity.

Unfortunately, so many things require a birth certificate change... it's stressful that I was born in a red state...

The SUPERMAJORITY PLAN TO IMPEACH TRUMP and HIS ADMINISTRATION

It will take 292 house and 67 senate votes to obtain a supermajority vote. This is the key to accomplishing anything in the house or senate. The house and senate will be able to impeach Trump and his administration for their crimes and corruption.

The Democrats are the only ones that will stand against Trump. We have to vote out as many republicans as possible.

EVERYONE IS GOING TO HAVE TO VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS IN THE NOVEMBER 3RD MIDTERM ELECTIONS TO MAKE THIS WORK

Make sure you share this with everyone you know without social media. People without social media are unaware how corrupt and detrimental Trump’s administration really is for our country. The media outlets do not post anything negative about Trump. Some people don’t even know what the midterm elections are or how important they are.

TRUMP, HIS ADMINISTRATION, HIS BILLIONAIRE PEDOPHILE NETWORK , AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY ARE MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE WORKING CLASS TO SURVIVE.

WE HAVE TO STOP THEM FROM DESTROYING THE COUNTRY

RESIST | FIGHT's avatar

That is what makes it so sinister. They are doing it quietly on purpose because they know open cruelty gets attention, but bureaucratic erasure can slip through before people even realize what was taken.

Where did this come from? I swear, Republicans are tossing in [or hiding] last-minute anti-trans bills. Infuriating and exhausting. Hang in there, everyone. There have been tough times before and our trans elders tell us -- persevere!

This comment is for Tracy's very funny comment.
